Who Are We?
We at Amici Vaticani are a private cultural association founded to honor the significant and often overlooked contributions of Americans to the Catholic Church, and to support the continued propagation of the Catholic faith within the United States. Our motto, “From Rome to Washington, Christ is Lord,” reflects our belief that faith is a vital part of our lives wherever we may be, that the spiritual legacy of Rome and the civic ideals of America need not stand apart, but together can form a moral and cultural foundation worthy of both peoples.
Our work is guided by a conviction that the Catholic tradition has played, and must continue to play, a vital role in shaping America’s moral conscience, its sense of community, and its respect for truth, virtue, and human dignity. From the missionaries who first brought the Gospel to the New World, to the countless parishes, schools, and charities that have served generations of Americans, the Church has been a pillar of continuity, tradition, and civilization in an ever-changing society.
